About us
PracticeDepth is an adaptive AI technical interviewer built to help engineers walk into the AI screen prepared — not rehearsed answers, but real thinking under real questions.
Why we built it
Hiring has changed. More and more companies now put candidates through an AI technical screenbefore a human ever sees their CV — a live, adaptive interview that asks follow-up questions, pushes on weak answers, and grades against a consistent standard. It's a fair format, but almost nobody gets to practice it. You either pass it cold, or you don't.
We wanted a way to rehearse that exact experience — one that behaves like a senior engineer across the table: asking a good question, listening to your answer, correcting you honestly, and drilling deeper into whatever you raise. That's PracticeDepth.
What it does
PracticeDepth asks questions based on your level (or the level you want to achieve) across sixteen topics— React, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, REST APIs, relational databases, testing, security, real-time systems, DevOps, CS fundamentals, AI engineering and machine learning. You answer by voice or by text. It transcribes and analyses each answer, corrects you the way a good interviewer would, and adapts the next question to the level you've just demonstrated — going deeper when you're strong, teaching when you're stuck.
Every session ends with a topic-by-topic scorecard and a study plan tailored to what you missed. Beyond mock interviews there's Learn mode for concept practice, standalone code challenges, and CV Defense — an interview grounded in your own résumé and a target job description.
Two things tie it together. The Interview Playbookweights a session the way a particular kind of screen really runs — backend depth, frontend rendering, distributed systems, security — so you can rehearse the format you're actually walking into. And your Depth Passportturns all that practice into a record of the depth you've sustained per topic: private by default, and publishable as a page you own if you ever want to show it.
How we think about it
Two principles shape the product. Honesty: the feedback is candid because a screen that flatters you is worse than useless — we grade the way a real interviewer would, so a strong score here means something. Respect for your time and money: there's no subscription and nothing to cancel. You buy credits when you want them and spend them only as you practice.
There's a third that shapes the Depth Passport specifically: a score is a snapshot, and a snapshot isn't growth. So a level only counts once you've held it across more than one session, one bad day can never take it away from you, and nothing about your practice is public unless you decide it should be.
